My Asthma

Diagnosed - 18-12-05

Current Status: Brittle (Although I refuse to believe it..)

I have a pretty low lung function now because my lungs are so screwed from asthma. My last lung function was in September and I was blowing about 47%. That's shit. That basically means my lungs are about half working. Sounds about right. That was 2 days after coming off aminophylline and was still in hospital. The highest I've seen those results in a year was 70%. Still pretty rubbish for a 19 year old, but it's something you live with.

Asthma's a bitch. There's no two ways about it. But because of my asthma I've made some fantastic friends that I hope to have for a very long time. I lived with my friend Emma for 10 months, and I wouldn't have met her if it hadn't have been for my asthma. Ok, It's a pain being in and out of hospital a lot, but it could be a hell of a lot worse. At least I can still go to school. As much as it's a pain, it's now part of me. You get used to it and learn that it's not the end of the world.
